Let One Success Lead You to Still More Success as a Business Leader

Your character qualities make a huge difference in what you and how to achieve much. Harmful trains stop some people from back, what they can:

- An impatient person will become frustrated and complain to spend more time than the search for improvements.

- An undisciplined person will randomly switch from one thing to another, before accomplish much of lasting value.

- A lazy person is looking for a place to take a nap, just as opportunity knocks.

Positive character traits a dynamic that leads to success:

- A caring person to help others is much more cooperation than those seeking selfish, wants to learn to help themselves.

- An optimistic person who sees us on the development of new skills eventually add many productive skills.

- A painfully honest person and gain profit from the respect and cooperation of many people who have learned not to trust the most.

Even if you do not have a lot of good character, you can eliminate harmful ones and building better. Where to begin?

Having provided career advice to dozens of young leaders who see later CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, I put the patterns of success that can be helpful in the search, as well. Let me spell out some of these lessons for you:

Recently, I corresponded with a former doctoral student of mine, Dr. Thabo Mosala, seen over his career. Let me share with you some of the ways that his career after the success of pattern I just described benefits.

Dr. Mosala grew up in a small village in Lesotho as the fifth of seven children. As a teenager, the school he often took books to study with him, while caring for the animals, but these books were in his native language, written Southern Sotho, and he felt that he could achieve much more if he just learn English books . During high school, he excelled in mathematics and fought in the English language. To enter a university, he had to happen in English. He did not. Undaunted, Dr. Mosala found a bridge application that would be to improve his English skills and allow him to learn more in his strong math and physics. At the end of the program, he passed the English exam and won an award for physics. He succeeded by finding a better solution.

An older brother asked Dr. Mosala, what he wanted to study. Not knowing a lot of alternative careers, he replied that he wanted to be a doctor. His brother noticed how well Dr. Mosala have in math and asked him how he felt about a career in computer science.

He was not sure, but a discussion with his client. use Encouraged by the possibility of an Apple computer at school, he developed a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics at the University of Lesotho, won the part-time at the University Computer Center during his studies. He made progress because he was open to try new things.

The University experience from when he was hired to work in the government computer center, paid for part of the Ministry of Finance. After seven months, the urge to learn more overtook him. Dr. Mosala next earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rhodes University in South Africa. To expenses, he taught other students and worked as a Residence Warden. In this way he has to gain new insights to the professional advantages over others.

Given what to learn next, recognized Dr. Mosala He needed more commercial skills, his computer science skills balance. As a result, he took a self-study program, to earn a certificate in banking and had a temporary setback when he failed accounting. In these studies, it was further career advantages to seek out new knowledge.

His next task proved to be a career breakthrough. He was involved set as information technology manager of a large company in the rail. By his employer, he could a Master of Business Leadership (earning an MBA program equivalent) degree from a local business school. Under this program, developed Dr. Mosala to fund a life-long love. By persistent in trying new things, he found a discipline which thrilled him.

In his next two jobs, Dr. Mosala to travel extensively to other countries, first in Africa and later on his home continent. This experience enhanced his understanding of business opportunities.

From this responsibility, Dr. Mosala rose to Director of Operations for Diners Club South Africa. In this capacity, he learned to play golf and gained much experience in the high always well acquainted with new people, especially those with income.

His next assignment was as Executive Director – Retail Banking for Standard Bank. Now he needed a bank confirmation. Because of his Master’s Degree in Business Leadership, he was excluded from the first level and took the more advanced program, in which he earned a certificate in International Banking and Treasury Management.

Dr. Mosala had long wanted to acquire a doctorate degree. At this point in his career, that was the ideal next step for educational advancement. But there was one problem: how would a busy banking executive find the time to a PhD?

Dr. Mosala reports feeling blown away with excitement when he discovered that he graduated from the University of Rushmore to work on it part time to earn from home, while centering much of his research, and writing about subjects that he worked has for the Standard Bank. This opportunity gave him a great ethical opportunity to further his career and helping his employer. As you can see, he was also maintaining its commitment to continuously improve himself and his organization.

Dr. Mosala also recognized that entrepreneurial activities could contribute to its success. He formed a partnership and began to it with talented entrepreneurs to interesting ways to explore work could look like. As a result, they bought a radio station and greatly improved its operating performance.

He reported that the directors of the station is currently in disagreement on certain issues, and pointed out to him how important it is to have the right partners and colleagues, if you want to succeed.

Dr. Mosala and his partner was also an IT company with a few pros and began looking for acquisition opportunities associated with companies that could be strengthened by such a merger. She began a professional accounting firm and consultancy.

Dr. Mosala intends to eventually purchase of large companies, their activities need improvement. In the meantime, Dr. Mosala and his cousin, a mineral water business, they hoped to expand in soft drink bottles began.

After he graduated, and the idea of being called Dr. Mosala used, he began to understand that it the sound of Professor Mosala better liked. With a Ph.D. Degrees, opened the door, and he soon won a position as lecturer at two business schools. He enjoyed this work very much, and his students became a source of advisory contracts. In addition, he established relationships with other professional service firms that offer their bid.

has started to want in his career as a teacher by a lecturer to a full professor in advance, he plans to write the necessary scientific articles, to make this possible course of 2009 and a master’s degree in economics to focus on the development and government policy issues. At this point he has to write a dissertation.

To want, his happiness with others by sending them to share a socially responsible person who started a project to improve Dr. Mosala in his village agriculture and also sponsors an award in computer science from the University of Lesotho.

As you can see, Dr. Mosala has followed the path that successful CEOs have entered. It’s pretty clear that its quest for success in building such a way that will lead to more success to him in good stead, so that his best performances are far from him before. There is no limit to how much he can achieve.
